As Seoul attracts many expats from the world, it is not rarity to find foreigners everywhere.
In such movements, a lot of visual artists are also included in them. Most of them stay in Seoul working for schools or private language institutes as English teachers, or through residency programs hosted by public or private art institutes. Ryan McLay is also one of those expat artists working in Seoul. Born in 1977 and graduated from Alberta art school in Canada, Ryan McLay has ever won 'Most honourable mention in sculpture at Toronto outdoor art exhibition, SOCAD Betty kantor award and Tyman & Victor Brosz Endowment. Presently living in Anyang, a peripheral city of Seoul, and working as an English teacher at a middle school, he keeps creating many works.
* The exhibition opens from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. everyday (the other times asked an appointment), Sundays closed. |
